First off, great job w/ the Iron Man XBOX mod. Very slick.
Secondly, I’ve got a quick question: how’d you do the “chrome” gold plating on the front piece? I’ve wanted to add finishes like that to things a few times but have yet to find a reasonably priced method of doing so.

I know exactly what you mean about having trouble. haha. I have searched high and low for good DIY methods of chroming, but I have ultimately concluded that It’s impossible. I honestly just bought every gold faceplate I could find until one of them was chrome.

Everyting you’ve given me has been really helpful. Thanks alot. But one more thing I wanted to ask was how you molded the plastic on the case to look kinda like the Iron Man chest plate? What was the technique that was used?
I used pvc pipe and plastic sheeting. I drew up templates for all the different pieces and built the chest assembly with cardstock first to fine-tune the design and size, after that I cut out the same pieces from a 1mm thick ABS sheet. I don’t remember what size the pvc fitting was, I just used a piece that fit the arc reactor.

Just saw you’re N64 mod, and I’ve really wanted to do one for a while. I loved my N64 and I don’t like it sitting around collecting dust. Just wondering what case you used in your build, and if there are any sources to help me get into case modding. I’d be coming into this completely fresh, and I’d like to get my hands a little bit dirty before diving straight into a project.
